Start with the retail location
A product photograph alone is not enough to specify a metal display. Will it sit beside a checkout, in an aisle or against a wall? Record the available width, depth and height, including nearby doors and equipment. The same product can need a different layout in each store format.
When a countertop display makes sense
A compact stand can present small packaged products on a limited surface. It should not obstruct the payment area, checkout screen or customer view. Check that products can be removed without disturbing adjacent packs, labels remain visible and staff can replenish stock comfortably. Review a sample with the actual packaging, not just an empty rack.
Questions for floor-standing displays
A floor-standing format may suit multiple shelves and a broader product range. Shelf spacing, total product weight, footprint and the need to move the stand should be discussed together. If wheels are requested, explain the floor conditions and how the unit will be secured in use. Capacity cannot be established from external dimensions alone; it needs a project-specific assessment.
Prepare a comparable quotation brief
Give each manufacturer the same product dimensions, quantities, location photographs and delivery expectations. Include price strips, branding panels and any knock-down assembly requirement.
